Friend of The Artist aims to create a supportive ecosystem for artists from around the globe, by shining a spotlight on emerging talent, and sharing their work with a wider audience through its volumes juried by art world insiders, published artist interviews, and social media features. Volume 16's jury panel includes a dynamic group of artists, collectors, critics, and gallerists from across the globe, from Israel to Italy.

Storm Ascher
Storm Ascher has a BFA in Visual & Critical Studies from the School of Visual Arts and holds an MA in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute and Claremont Graduate University and is a Forbes 30 Under 30 Honoree - Art & Style 2022. Storm founded Superposition Gallery in August 2018. She started her curatorial projects with a mission to subvert gentrification tactics used in urban development through art galleries. By starting a nomadic gallery model without a brick and mortar space, the gallery has continued to grow their community outreach and has drawn in exhibition participation from over 70 artists of different cultural backgrounds and multidisciplinary practices. Storm is a painter, sculptor, and documentarian. She conducts interviews and archival footage with arts professionals and is an independent arts writer and critic contributing to publications such as CULTURED, PHILLIPS Editorial, Tilt West, Petite Ivy Press, and Gallerie8.
Victor Ehikhamenor
Victor Ehikhamenor is a Nigerian multimedia artist, photographer and writer. He has been prolific in producing abstract, symbolic and politically/historically motivated works. A 2020 National Artist in Residence at the Neon Museum, Las Vegas, Nevada, Ehikhamenor is also a 2016 Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Fellow. He has held several solo exhibitions and his works have been included in numerous group exhibitions and biennales, including: The 57th Venice Biennale as part of the Nigerian Pavilion (2017), 5th Mediations Biennale in Poznan, Poland (2016), The 12th Dak’art Biennale in Dakar, Senegal (2016), Biennale Jogja XIII, Indonesia (2015). As a writer he has published fiction and critical essays with academic journals, magazines and newspapers around the world including The New York Times, Guernica Magazine, BBC, CNN Online, Washington Post, etc. Ehikhamenor is the founder of Angels and Muse, a thought laboratory dedicated to the promotion and development of contemporary African art and literature in Lagos, Nigeria.
Edoardo Monti
Born in Bergamo, Edoardo Monti studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. He then moves to New York where he worked for Stella McCartney for 8 years. Shortly after, Monti decided to focus on contemporary art exclusively and apply the skills acquired over the years abroad to his own region, Lombardia while building bridges between artists, artisans and institutions all over the world. In addition to being the founder of Palazzo Monti, an artist residency and cultural center located in Brescia, Italy, Monti is also an art collector and curator. In the past 3 years, he has curated over 30 exhibitions at Palazzo Monti, various institutions and art galleries. Monti sits on the board of several institutions including GAMeC Club, the Italian Art Trust, and the MTArt agency. He is part of the selection committee of the Collectible Design Fair in Brussels and is in charge of the VIP and digital strategy of ArtVerona. Monti is also the director of Belle Arti, a cultural association chaired by Massimo Minini.
Alexandra Steinacker-Clark
Alexandra Steinacker-Clark, is an American-Austrian art historian, curator, and writer. She lives and works in London, UK. She obtained her BA in History of Art at University College London and continued her education at Goldsmiths University with an MA in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy, graduating with first class honors and distinction respectively. Her areas of research include feminism and artificial intelligence in contemporary art, western museum policies, as well as accessibility and engagement in the arts. She currently holds a position at Skarstedt Gallery after her time as Studio Manager for a London-based artist and 4 years at Sotheby’s Auction House. She is an Ambassador for MTArt Agency, has co-founded the C/20 Association for International Curatorial Practice, and is the founder and host of the ‘All About Art’ podcast.
Serge Tiroche
Serge Tiroche grew up with art and has broad experience as a collector, gallery owner, Impressionist and Modern Art dealer, curator and, art fund manager. Serge completed business administration studies in Paris in 1992 and then obtained an MBA from INSEAD in 1997. In parallel, he began collecting contemporary art. After graduating, he joined Citigroup’s Private Bank where for 10 years he advised high net worth families on investments and other wealth management issues. In 2007, before the financial crisis, he left banking in order to combine his passions for art and investments, with a mission to enable the broader HNW community to participate in the art world, proposing passion investments. His first project was to found ST-ART, Israel’s first art incubator project. He went on to invest in the Artist Pension Trust and serve as its global chairman until 2010. In 2011, he co-founded Art Vantage, an art fund focused on collecting contemporary art from developing markets, via the Tiroche DeLeon Collection. His most recent initiative was to found Africa First in 2017, focusing his private collecting and promotional work on contemporary art from Africa and the diaspora. Over the years Serge has been involved with multiple public art organizations: The Batsheva Dance Company, The Tel-Aviv Museum, The Serpentine Gallery, the Israel Museum, and Shenkar College of Art & Design, to name a few. Serge also invests and advises startups seeking a more efficient art market ecosystem.
